C.7.c. Elenoa Peta Blake ko ene fanau ko Taniela Taupeaafe mo Viliami Maea koe ongo foha o Tevita Tu'amoheloa Lasike*.
Na'e mali a Elenoa Peta Blake mo Tomasi Mahe pea ko ena fanau ko Siaosi Toafai'uiha, Ilisa, Vuna Blake, Melenaite, Losaline Leveni pea mo Kepueli Mahe.

Hello!!!!
My name is Tevita Tu'amoheloa Taloa and I'd be the son of Samiuela Fekeila Taloa, son of Viliami Ngininginiofolanga Taloa, who in turn was the son of Ngininginiofolanga?? Now if this is wrong I am truly sorry but I am corresponding with my relatives and it seems they only have the Helu side (Viliami's wife was Numia Nanise Helu) but this seems to be the story: Ho'amofeleono had another son (tu'utamaki)?? with Taniela Pikokivaka (Lasike) named Ngininginiofolanga who then married an Alesanga?? they lived in Ha'apai but came back to Vaini (Moheloa Taloa's little brother came first and stayed with Ma'afu). Anyway is this Moheloa Lasike the same as Taniela Pikokivaka?? If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time,

Moheloa

Tracing the names Amalani, Fusi, Latu or Latutama

Postby Serenity Bloomfield » Sun Oct 07, 2007 7:58 am

Dear James and Miss Rosie,

I thankyou ahead of time for reading this message.

Currently I am tracing my Tongan Genealogy which has been a challenge as I unfortunetly do not speak Tongan. I have been trying to find the correct family connecting my Great Great Grandmother from Kolovai Fusi Tuipulotu b 1869, also known as Seluvaia Fusilautama.

Fusi had a natural daughter with Vali Vuni Bloomfield, and her name was Melenaite (Amalani) Bloomfield b 1899. In Tonga she was probably known as Melenaite Amalani. Melenaite left Tonga in the 1920's for NZ.

Because your post mentions the surnames Amalani, (Melelita) Fusi, Tuipulotu or Pulotu, Latu, and Tama. I thought it was worth asking to see if I had the right family. Or maybe at this stage I am just desperate for a clue. Hope you understand, it means alot to my family to find the answers.

Again I thankyou

Last week, I met the current "Tangulu" title holder. He is Tomasi Latu, son of Uepi Latu, son of Alifeleti Latu, son of Vili Vaitaiki, son of Tevita Vuvutau Tangulu. We met at the funeral of Lesieli Tukutau Vamanrav in Salt Lake City. Lesieli was the daughter of Viliami Tukutau, son of Vili Vaitaiki, and so on.

I just stopped in to read this because I was interested in James' geneology. Come to find out, this is part of my family line as well.

I come from Siokapesi Uhi Vaka'uta - Sione Vaka'uta - Kaufo'ou - grannie - daddy - me. LOL

What a small world. Anyways, I'll be reading the geneology room more to see what other connections I have.

This is great!
